Close to 25,000 Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms

Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, generating powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage

Locals reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been hit with significant hail.
